Mitch Horowitz is the editor-in-chief of Tarcher/Penguin Books in New York, specializing in spiritual and occult books. Mitch joins us to discuss his forthcoming book on the occult in America, coming from Bantam.

The Secret Teachings of All Ages by Manly P. Hall

In our conversation, we discuss Mitch’s journey into the occult, spiritual, mystical, and metaphysical. He talks about his research into the history of America and its “re-making” of the occult. We then get into discussing many of the notable occult figures throughout recent history (Cagliostro, Blavatsky, Olcott, Case, Hall, and others), the differences between European occultism and American occultism, and the Authentic Tradition.Mitch’s knowledge and wisdom shines in this conversation, to say nothing of the amazing books he has helped deliver to the world.

Awesome. I’m looking forward to listening to this
show. I find Manly Hall’s writings to be throughly
    fascinating.

I recently visited the Henry S. Olcott Memorial
Library at the national center for the Theosophical Society and was pleased to see a
whole section of Manly P. Hall books available to
    borrow.
