Podcast 37 - Jason Augustus Newcomb

January 14th, 2008 by rochester92

In this episode, we’re joined by student, teacher, and author Jason Augustus Newcomb. Our wide-ranging conversation covers many areas including Jason’s path, his work with “The New Hermetics,” magickal practice, consciousness, and his writings.

Among his newer books that we discuss are “The Book of Magick Power,” a comprehensive and practical guide to the study and practice of the Art, and “The Brotherhood of Light and Darkness,” an occult novel set in modern times.

“I’d like to see people who are magickal attempting to get along better with one another. Not necessarily working together in circles, but working together in harmony to create a Divine world here on this plane. And I’d like to see people being good to each other. The injustices of the world are all within each of us …”

In response to the above “I’d like to see people who are magickal attempting to get along better with one another.” Here is my experience:

I think today it is difficult to sometimes find the time for circle in the hectic life that we lead. For me, has become apparent that one cannot become a practicing occultist until one has read enough books (like the ones which you have kindly suggested above) and has somewhere and time to practice on one’s own. I have recently purchased the book by Jason Newcomb, based on the recommendation on your website and I must say that I have found the text delightful. Carrying out magic does not have to mean being alone… the web is a big place and I have been fortunate to use allot of information in order to progress my path. In a nutshell, if you are reading this post I would recommend the Book of Magick Power as for me, it was refreshing read that included a number of methods that will unlock the magick within. Thank you for sharing! Kay x
